Hi, I’m Philip Toledo.
I love working with people of all ages and abilities to help them achieve their goals. I’m an easygoing coach who aims to make everyone feel comfortable on court, tailoring each lesson to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.I’ve coached tennis for over 10 years, from complete beginners to competitive players. I grew up playing tournaments myself and represented Bristol University, winning 22 of my 23 matches. I still compete when time allows and currently rank inside the top 1,000 in the UK.Off court, I enjoy football, basketball, snooker, rock climbing, and yoga, and I often bring lessons from those sports into my coaching. I also have a strong interest in data science, which I like to integrate into performance analysis and player development.

Tennis is one of the best sports for personal growth. It constantly challenges your mindset, focus, and ability to stay present. My coaching develops self-awareness, independence, and confidence through guided problem-solving and tactical learning. Sessions prioritise tactical goals first, then the technical adjustments needed to achieve them. Footwork, variety, and mindset are at the core of my approach, with improvement driven by focused, high-intensity repetition-
improvement = hours trained × intensity trained.
| Session Type | Cost/Hour | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Taster Session | Free | A free half an hour individual lesson where the coach can assess level, and discuss the best program for the player. |
| Mini Red | £15 | (Ages 5-8) focuses on serving, rallying, and scoring with a slower ball on a smaller court. |
| Mini Orange | £15 | (Ages 8-9) builds on this with a slightly larger court and a ball that is still slower than a yellow ball, aiming to develop a more rounded game with various shots and tactics. |
| Mini Green | £15 | (Ages 9–10) Players use a slightly softer, lower-bouncing ball on a full-sized court, helping them develop technique, consistency, and tactical awareness while transitioning smoothly from orange to yellow ball tennis. The focus is on rallying, footwork, and introducing matchplay with scoring and positioning. |
| Yellow Ball | £15 | (Ages 10+) Players now use the standard yellow ball on a full-size court, focusing on advanced tactics, strength, and matchplay awareness. Sessions build confidence in all areas of the game - technical refinement, shot selection, and point construction, preparing players for full competitive tennis. |
| Adult Improvers | £15 | These sessions are designed to give you a strong base from which you can progress and enjoy the game. This includes a good level of consistency, basic footwork patterns, stroke mechanics and tactical awareness. |
| Adult Advanced | £15 | These sessions focus on problem-solving and tactical awareness, giving players the chance to think strategically while the coach observes key patterns and shot selections. From there, we refine specific situations through targeted repetition, adding technical detail and tactical depth. |
| Private Lesson | £45 | This is where the coach and player can really focus on a technical issue that we need to fix to be able to solve more tactical situations. |
| Cardio Tennis | £15 | High intensity drills with a focus on cardiovascular endurance and patterns. |
| Strength & Conditioning/ Inury Prevention | £15 | Indoor sessions including a range of tennis specific exercises that will help you feel stronger and faster on court as well as prevent injuries. |
